Tree Fundraiser Winter in Nebraska can seem extremely long when the days are cold, the skies are grey and the ground is covered in snow, but when spring arrives, the dull browns of winter erupt in colors of promise. The approximately one acre of grounds at the International Center have always been exceptionally beautiful in the spring. The flowering trees, showcased by a backdrop of evergreens, provided a stunning entrance to the Center drive and highlighted the marble sign that welcomes visitors to the International Center; the headquarters of the Supreme Guardian Council offices and the home of the Ethel T. Wead Mick Memorial Room. Unfortunately, some things have changed. A disease called “Pine Wilt” forced us to remove 22 trees from our property. The once beautiful grounds are now devastatingly bare. For a view of the grounds of the International Center with and without the trees, Click Here. A landscape artist has drafted a plan to add 1 Purple Ash tree, 3 Flowering Pear trees, 7 Prairie Fire Flowering Crab trees and 20 Blue Spruce trees. The plan also includes the installation of numerous bushes and perennials, but all of this cannot be done without your help. We are hoping that all Bethels, Jurisdictional Guardian Councils, Grand Guardian Councils, Voting Delegates, Job’s Daughters and friends will consider a donation to help us restore the grounds at the International Center.
