Wow
it has been a while since I have written an email to keep everyone informed! I'm
sure most of you are thinking, I knew that she wouldn't be able to keep an email
going with being so busy. And well that's not it. Maybe some are thinking maybe
she fell off the side of the earth? And that my
friends is wrong as well. Want to hear the true story on why it has been nearly
two months since my last email? Ok. I was home for a nice little break around
thanksgiving. The doorbell rang, and monkeys grabbed me from my house in my PJ's
and put me in this white van. They drove me to Europe!
I know I was like wow! How did I get to Europe
in a VAN? These monkeys are smart little creatures! They took me to see their
home in the Rain Forest! Yep yep! True story! By the way I'm still in my PJ's;
they didn't let me grab clothes, or my computer! What mean, mean little monkeys!
OK, so I am just kidding! But hopefully that put a smile on your
face! What really did happen was I was just chilling at home, working making
some extra spending money and I woke up one morning and my back hurt. A hurt
like maybe I slept on it wrong. So I just kind of waited it off thinking it will
go away! After a couple of days it was still hurting so I talked to my parents
and they told me to take the feather bed off of my bed. And at this point I was
willing to try anything. It was very painful. After about a week of it still not
getting better we went to the doctor. Long story short, I ended up having a torn
disk in my L5. All they could do for it was give me painkillers and exercises
saying it should heal on its own. We don't know the exact cause of the injury,
but the father thinks it's because of the 50-pound suitcases I have been lugging
around. My best friend thinks it's because of the "body
bags"(Garment bags) as she calls them. Whatever it was I was
"grounded" (as my mom said) for the next 3 months as per the doctor's
orders. I've been going to physical therapy, and it is slowly getting better!
I finally got to get back on the road and do something with my life
on January 11th. I drove down to Denver
were my aunt and uncle live and stayed the night with them for my early flight
on the 12th. I met up with Britt, MC (Mom Coley) and DH (Dad
Hoglund) in Flint Michigan! It was so incredible to see Britt. You never know
how much you miss something until it's gone. We stayed with the Smiley's, and
Britt and I got our own "garage apartment". We met many wonderful
people in Michigan. Katie the GBHQ was a ball of
energy just like me. Brittney and I sure had a lot of fun with her! They
had a reception for us and their "supreme people". We then got to go
to the installation of Bethel Officers of Bethel 10. They did some things
different from Wyoming and from Indiana.
But I've come to notice that each jurisdiction takes a ceremony and makes it
their own! It was super cool to see some of the things that they did do and
think hey that would look good at Supreme!
We then drove up to Guelph Canada. A 4-ish hour drive. When
we got to the hotel the best thing ever happened! Can you guess!?!?! No, no, not
the monkeys! Brittney and I got a complimentary upgrade. To a suite!!!! Living
in luxury the 'Supremes' are! Brittney brought the Wii
she had gotten for Christmas so we sure had some
fun.
We attended Guelph's Bethel meeting. This is the only Bethel
in Ontario, they were a struggling bethel
but seem to be getting their feet back on the ground. They had a stop and go
meeting because it was the first meeting since Installation. The girls did an
amazing job for their first meeting! These girls, just like Katie, we full of
energy! They all got along and had many, many activities planned! Good luck
Girls!
We then got up at 5 AM to catch flights at 7 and 7 30. Britt flew
through Dallas with DH while MC and I flew
through Atlanta. Our plane had
trouble. Something with a sensor was wrong so they wanted to check it. We
ended up sitting at the gate for an hour before they even backed us up. THEN
they sprayed something that smelled like Maple syrup on the plane - de -icing
is what Joe, the flight attendant called it. Once in Atlanta
MC and I had to RUN to make our flight to New Mexico.
We were two of the last 10 to board. Kind of scary and nerve racking but we made
it! We went to a bethel meeting there, they had Mexican food. Imagine that! I'm
not one for spicy and let me tell you what it was sure a spicy dinner!
We then made our way to Arizona! It
was so nice and warm there! I want to go back as soon a possible! We were picked
up at the airport by Breanna the GBHQ and adults! We went across town to
the Macaroni Grill. I had never been there before and it was amazing! Nothing
else was actually planned for the evening, at least with the adults. We had the
pleasure of staying with Breanne and her dad. Nancy the Miss Arizona,
drove down from Phoenix to join us. We ended up
going to the mall to do some light shopping then to get some pizza! After that
we went to the Swap meet. I had never been to one, and wasn't sure what it was.
And for those of you who are in the same boat, it's a HUGE yard sale! There we
did our heavy shopping. I saw a purse that was just breath taking and it was one
of those things that you "need", not "want" It was
originally $50. I got it for $25! Woo hoo! The rest of the night was filled with
chit chat and a "journaling
party"
The next day was jam packed with activities!
We woke up early to go the Bethel meeting of 2 and 25. It was an
amazing meeting. One of the best ritual works I have seen! Two bethels working
as one, you would have never guessed that two bethels were on the floor
together! Hats off to you girls! Then there was a lunch from a local restaurant
called eegees. It’s like a Subway, or a Blimpies, but much better, softer
bread, and fresher meat. Then we went to the Dessert museum. And those of you
who know me are probably thinking "I'm sure Jette had such a blast!"
sarcastically of course (I'm not one for museums). But this was actually pretty
cool! Animals that were fake I'm telling you, until the lion turned its head and
looked right at me! Holy cow! There were Cacti, and rocks and minerals.
Just pretty cool to see the culture of Arizona.
Then back to the Lodge to play games and eat dinner! Dinner was
Mexican and not to bad! Wasn't as spicy as New Mexico!
Then a super fun Game of Jobie Jeopardy! Then to
the Gaslight Theatre. It was audience participation type of play with signing
and just a lot of fun! The actors kept forgetting lines and laughing at each
other so it made it even more fun! And no matter what you hear from the Arizona
girls, I did NOT start the popcorn fight at Intermission!
It was amazing to be back and the road again! I was really missing
the travel, "my partner in crime", the girls, and the warm welcomes
that we get from each Jurisdiction that we visit! My Grandparents picked me up
in Arizona and brought me to Casa Grande to hang
out with them and catch up. And my Grandma said that she hopes I know how lucky
I am that I get to do this. While I had thought about that before, it just
really hit me that this experience will be with me forever. No matter how hard
things get, how many tears are shed, or how many problems I may think I have,
I'm doing something that many girls would love to have the opportunity to do!
I'm grateful for the people who take Brittney and I in, put a roof over our
heads, and feed us! And a special thanks to those who have donated your money so
my dream could come true. You all are amazing people! I thank you very much! I
hope to see you all around the State, World, and even at supreme session!

Hello,
So we traveled to Minnesota for their camp
there. The ride it's self was
pretty interesting. We squeezed 5 us into Mom Coley's car. Brittney
in the
middle and there was a seat belt in her bum for 3 hours. Poor thing. It
was
a very long 3 hours in a car to get to camp. When we finally go there, we
walk in right at dinner. There were 3 rooms filled with people. It was the
coolest thing ever. We then get welcomed by a huge round of applause.
Something we weren't expecting at all. Then come to find out we were at the
head table. It was nuts but a very cool surprise.
Dinner was great the actually have people serving us. You
know at our
camp we get it ourselves and if we want something we get up and get it? no
here you hold up what you want and they bring it to you! It was cool. And
nice! hahahah. we then went to find our cabin, we were rooming with Bethel
1, the Bethel that Miss Minnesota is from. We were way way way back
in the
woods. They told us that our bedding towels and stuff like that would be
taken care of because it's a little hard for us to travel with a sleeping bag
on an airplane. We get into the room and Kara says so we only have one
pillow, and Brittney is headed right for the bed with the pillow. I sigh and
say we'll switch and she's like ya ok, then a younger girl in the bethel was
so excited to offer me her pillow. "take it... take it" she told me.
And so
I think she slept on some clean clothes as a pillow. Then later that
night
when I crawled into the sleeping bag I find out that this thing had to be made
for a four year old because it only came up to my chest. I found the extra
bedding that they had given us, with sheets and stuff and I found TWO
comfiters. I folded one up underneath the pillow I had, because it was super
thin. Then I took the other one and covered the rest of my body. Then I hear
Brittney say, Hey jette is there another blanket in there and I said, nope
sorry! She also, on her bed had, a double mattress! So over all I think I
deserved the blankets!!!
At this camp there was so much to do. Archery, Canoeing, kayaking,
Playing in the water, volleyball, kickball, softball, crafts, secret palls,
they dress up according to theme of that years
camp, this years was Musical
Magic, so like The Wizard of Oz, Phantom of the
Opera, Grease, stuff like
that, next years is Disney Princess, they go all
out at camp. Both
Brittney and I got bullseye's when we shot archery. That was super cool. We
got tipped into water by Mike don't know his last name from 85. And the
VAGG. It was fun until Brittney hit her ankle and used crutches to keep up
with me the rest of the weekend. We both almost made it across the water
wennie as well. but fell just short. Then Brittney had this great idea to
get a picture on the weenie. She told me to sit and scootch. And the
lifeguard lady said I had to make it at least two feet away from the dock.
So I kinda squatted and jumped like a frog. And well the weenie kinda tipped
and I went into the water, hard. Brittney and everyone on the dock is
laughing. I'm sure it was pretty funny to see, it was pretty funny to do!
Brittney and I both also shared some tears at this camp. It
hit me that
I was away from home, I missed the first meeting. I missed tie dying shirts,
and the girls called me. I meant so much to me that they thought to call
me. I really miss all of you in Wyoming,
and all the emails, phone calls,
and text messages really means a lot to me. Thank you so much.
Then everyone got to go home and be with their families. I
got to go to
Washington D.C. to the Installation of The
Scottish Rite. The first time ever
in history that the northern and southern jurisdictions got together to do
this. Monday morning I woke up early got pretty and went to give me remarks.
I was so nervous, there were so many people, from all over the world there.
I got up did my thing, and I thought it went pretty good. Then people kept
coming up to me telling my congratulations, good job, telling me I was a
great speaker, and I had great poise. It was very nice, and a rewarding
feeling to know I did well. I said thank you more times in D.C. than I think
I've ever said in my life. Dad Hoglund, Kim Regner, and Mom Regner, took
me
sight seeing, I was most of the monuments, and the changing of the guard at
the Arlington National Cemetery. It was a once in a life time opportunity
and a great time.
Once again thank you so much for all of the email, and
everything.
I love you all.....

WOW!
What a trip this has been. I've had a blast! I thought we in Wyoming
didn't
sleep on Jobie events. Well let me tell you.... these girls in Wisconsin
DO
NOT SLEEP!.... We stayed up late the first night with the "Variety
Show" and
The slumber/toga party with the Miss Wisconsin
contestants. And I found out
that I cannot put on a toga. Tucking it into your shorts and spinning
doesn't work!
It then down poured the rest of the trip and all the outside plans got
canceled. I was so lucky to be able to help with the personal interviews for
the Pageant. That was the coolest thing ever! Then I got to judge the
"Variety Show". Wisconsin's grand bethel is completely different then
ours!
I was blow away. They are opposite of our normal bethel... Their robes are
purple and they have white capes with the purple brick brack. They didn't
wear head bands and have to pay for their medallions. They use the regular
ritual parts for the meeting instead of the Special Grand Bethel rituals
like we do. It was super cool to see how different yet the same everything
was.
The next night was the Miss Wisconsin pageant
and I called the top three
contestants. It was super cool to see that. Then they had a huge pizza
party. We then went to Bethel number 19, Mom Maureen's bethel, and got Ooga
Booga'd. Don't ask but lets just say if you see my pics of a wet butt.. I
didn't piddle myself it was a part of this ooga booga thing! hahahh! It was
a blast and a huge highlight of the whole weekend! But a close second had to
have been when Brittney just flushed the toilet like normal and it WOULDN'T
STOP FLUSHING!!! We woke up a random adult to help us but she couldn't do
anything. We called the front deck and all they could do was get us another
room. But when he called back to tell us that there was a room it stopped,
randomly just stopped! Thank God! We went to bed at about 2:30. Wisconsin's
Jamboree was a super blast, and everyone welcomed us with open arms. I can't
wait to go to Minnesota camp!!!! YAY!!!
Thanks to all of you for your support!!!

Bonjea!
Good day!
Brazil came and left like it was a fly buzzing
from window to window It
was one amazing trip and I want to tell you all, all about it! But it was 2
½ weeks and that would make this email about 50 some odd pages, seeing how
my journal had 81 pages about Brazil! I will hit some of the highlights
and
throw in some pictures, they speak a lot louder than what I could explain.
It was an amazing trip and it was all captured on camera, with over 600
pictures that I took.
Of course goods and bads come with each trip and I'm trying to think of both
for this one in particular, and they only bad thing I can think of was the
plane ride. 9 hours in a plane sitting and eating plane food! Yummy! Just
kidding! We tried to sleep the whole way and did most of the way. It was a
late flight that went all through the night and we got to Belo
Horizonte
about 10 am. There we were greeted by a group of amazing girls. They had
flowers for all of us! They welcomed us with a hug and a kiss to each cheek
(something we got really use to doing This city was huge And for
those of you who live in Wyoming or have ever
visited Wyoming, you know that
our cities are rather small, and for a small town girl being thrown into a
fast pace life of huge buildings, speeding cars, traffic jams, with more
than 30 cars, many “ many - many buses, and road rage, it was a huge eye
opener in it self! All throughout Brazil I
experienced this and I wasn't
good with it by the time we left but was sure use to it!
The first meeting we went to Brittney and I were asked to be at the base of
the cross by Thais, the Grand Bethel Honored Queen. Then in Rio De Janero
(the last jurisdiction we visited) we were asked to be at the base of the
cross. It was a complete circle, and it was a great way to end the trip.
Here are some highlights from my Trip:
(If I sat here and told you a story that went with every highlight I would
have over 81 pages So I guess if you would like more detail on any subject
email me and let me know.)
Went to Ureo Petro (City of Black Gold) lots of history and many pictures
and gifts
Got hit by a bus
Saw Jesus and he was HHHUUUGGGEEE!
Broke into our bus
Took pictures
Ate pizza with no tomato sauce “ Fish - Cheese on dessert pizza with
chocolate??
Watched a lot of Soccer
Had no idea what people were saying to us most of the time (just smile and
nod!)
Took over 1,000 pictures
Cried
Laughed
Smiled
Cried (good tears!)
Called home, (cried)
Went to the beach!
Rice and Chicken
Brittney got coral stuck in her foot, Dr. Jette got it out.
Took pictures
Marilee fried her hair
Got stared at a lot!
DH (Dad Hoglund) hurt his arm lifting our luggage
87 girls in robes at ONE meeting
Chicken and Rice
Many many hotels
Wash clothes and Kleenex
Many girls have emailed me and contacted me through MSN messenger! (It's
amazing to hear from them and to hear how much they miss us!)
Saw a huge accident between a tour bus and a semi
Almost died on the escalator
Got sick on the plane
Had trouble finding the o
Off switch for the light on the plane
Cold showers
Very long capes
Beautiful girls!
Brazil was such and amazing trip and I was so
lucky to be able to represent
Job's Daughters. I wish that more girls could go and see their enthusiasm,
eagerness, and passion for Job Daughters. It is remarkable. I was just blown
away. Sometimes we only look at our own bethels, we don't look beyond to see
our order and where it is going. Brazil is
number two in numbers in our
order. Within the next couple years they could easily be number one. Our
numbers are slowing declining while theirs are steadily rising. I think if
we all look at our jurisdictions and other jurisdictions and realized where
we are headed it might hit us and we could get back the energy that Brazil
has. We all have heard the speeches about membership and how important it is
to our order. And I know it is, but we also need to keep the daughters we
have. Make sure you are including the younger girls, and as an 18 year old I
know it's tough for us older girls to relate and sometimes to have the
necessary patience with the younger daughters. But they are our future, and
we were once those little girls!
I hope this article finds everyone doing well enjoying school, work, and their
Jobies meeting and activities!

Howdy!
Mom Coley's (MC) reception was this past weekend, not only was it close to
home, but my mommy came with me! It was very nice. The first day we got
there, we went to a bethel meeting! It was a different meeting but really
cool to see! It was a dual meeting, Bethel 6 and Bethel 19! The next morning
we woke up to go to a "hike" for HIKE. This was a skating rink were
they
train for speeding skating for the Olympics.
There was a huge speed skate
track and two full size skating rinks, and then there was a running track
around the speed track. That is where we walked. It was freezing cold but a
lot of fun to watch these people skating around us. There was a guy shooting
a start gun and every time we walked by him it seemed like the race would
just be getting started and he shot the gun off right as we walked by
him. It startled us each time. The best part of the morning was to watch the
presentation of five separate HIKE awards to five different families. They
all seemed so grateful.
Later that night was MC's reception. Mom Maureen's (SBG) bethel did a really
cute presentation to her, played chimes and told a little bit about her
past. It was super cute, and neat to see how they all really support their
"Supremes".
The next morning Marilyn Olson, VGG from Wyoming, had a 6 am flight
and was up at 3. Mom and I got to sleep in and later in the morning went
shopping with Mom Elaine VGG and her daughter Lindsey. We were shown around
the city; we got lost but eventually found out way to the airport in plenty of
time. Due to flight delays we didn't make it home until 1:00 a.m. It was a
fun weekend, and now I'm really excited for my reception!

Happy November!!!!!
November is the BEST month of all months. For a couple reasons! It kicks off
the "holiday season". (We don't count Halloween.)
Thanksgiving is in
November! Brittney Utley, the Miss International Jobs Daughter's birthday is
November 24. And yours truly is November 25! And I get almost three full
weeks home to spend with my family and friends! No month could be any
better!
Anyways! My past travels! South Dakota, Nebraska,
and Kansas!
South Dakota
This was the most beautiful city I have seen! It really reminded me of
Casper! A curvy downtown, very small. But the
best part was the falls! They
were absolutely gorgeous. It made you want to just sit down on the rocks and
think, listen the water, and feel the mist on your face. (There are
pictures up on the Wyoming web page, go check it out!) They had just redone
it all, and it was just gorgeous Britt and I just want to explore and spend
time there! But we were headed down to the temple to have a pizza party
with bethels 1, 17, and 38 of Sioux Falls. The
girls were really sweet and
welcoming. They had a practice after that for a meeting the next day!
The meeting went great; they did a ceremony that explains the robe! They did
a really really good job! What was really amazing about the meeting is the
Senior Princess of 38 had stepped in as Honored Queen, and was just a good
as an Honored Queen who had just finished her term! Hats off to her!
Nebraska
Here they had a leadership weekend. I think they said they had about 120
girls in attendance. This was a gorgeous facility where they had just redone
there many lodge and it was more like a hotel then a camp. But they did have
little cabins, but I guess when you are the Supreme Bethel Honored Queen and
Miss International, you are VIP's and get to sleep in the "hotel" with
the
adults! It was great! Poor girls! They had so many great ideas for promotion
and HIKE.
They had a bake sale for HIKE, and they had girls and adults bring home made
baked goods, and they entered them into different categories and they were
judged! MC had to judge it! HAHA. Then they gave out ribbons to 1st, 2nd,
and 3rd place. Then they sold tickets to eat the food. One dollar per ticket
and you could fill the plate as high as you wanted! I count one girls bag of
money and they had made of $120!!! What a great idea!! They also gave me a
book for planning your term as Honored Queen! I wish I would have had this
during my term, it was so cool! If anyone would like a copy email me and I
will see what we can do about getting that to you!
They also had sessions on conflict resolution, ice breaker and getting to
know you, and Bylaws, and rules and regulations. A game of "Jobie Family
Feud", that was a lot a lot of fun! And Nebraska
girls do "scavenger hunts"
a bit different than what most people think scavenger hunts are! They pick
twelve girls to come sit at the front of room! And the people watching do
most of the work! The Grand Guardian says you need to find a flip flop.
And
everyone rushes in to the crowd to find a flip flop. Then race back to their
seats. The catch is one seat is missing, like musical chairs, more people
than chairs. So one person is left standing and then they are out. The she
says now you must return the flip flop and bring back a visa credit card! So
they take back the shoes and get a credit card, another catch, you can't get
the credit card from the same person you got the flip flop from! It is just
a riot to watch and to play. A good tip, have band aids handy if you want to
play this game. And you can use any items, including grand officers, PHQ,
water bottles, rubber bands, forks, (make sure
they run with pointy side
down!) , napkin dispensers, use your imagination, it's a fun game to play
inside if it is cold outside!
Kansas
Here we went to a meeting, a lot of different bethels had come together and
the Grand Bethel Honored Queen presided! The meeting was to honor the
"Supremes" us and there Jurisdictional people who were Supreme Bethel
officers of reps, and there Supreme Officer! It was nice. They did
opening,
presentation, remarks and closing! Couldn't get any better! HAHA!
The Miss Nebraska had taken Brittney and I shopping before the meeting and
Brittney bought my birthday present. Don't' worry I didn't look when I was
trying it on! And I bought some new jeans, buy one get one half off! It
was
a good day for shopping.
The next morning they took us to a historical room and the Grand lodge
building; here they had done a beautiful with. There were old robes, and
crowns. Past Supreme People from Kansas, old
bibles and gavels. It was
really cool to see. They also had a section for Rainbow girls and Demolay.
We then drove to the airport and went our different ways! Now I am home
until after thanksgiving and it is really nice to be home and to spend the
holiday with my friends and family! I hope this letter finds everyone doing
well and enjoy their family! Hold them close during this time, and be
grateful for what you have a remember those who don't. We are all so lucky
to be part of this organization where family surrounds us all time! Reach
out to those who are less fortunate, even if it's just a smile, it will mean
the world to them. Help out at a soup kitchen and change someone's life! You
all have touched me in one way or another and for that I am so
"thankful"!
Happy Thanksgiving all!!!
Jobie Love and T.Y. Hugs
